Basic Guide to Amharic
Amharic is one of the Ethiopian Semitic languages and serves as the official working language of Ethiopia with over 20 million speakers. The language is written left-to-right in a system developed from the Ge'ez script, called Fidäl or Abugida. This is your chance to get a look at some basic Amharic.

Good afternoon	ʾənədämənə walu	እንደምን ዋሉ

It is a beautiful day	qonəǧo qänə näwə	ቆንጆ ቀን ነው
Have a nice day	mäkamə qänə yəhunələwo	መካም ቀን ይሁንልዎ
Goodbye	dähəna yəhunu	ደህና ይሁኑ
